Welcome to my website. First of all: thank you for taking the time to read this. There are so many more fun things that you could be doing right now: watch a show on Netflix, play a musical instrument, do your taxes, write an essay on the many different types of sand particles, break your ankle on purpose… And yet here you are. I don’t know, but to me, it feels like a privilege to have you here and I welcome you sincerely.
So who am I? I don’t even know that myself. All I know is that I’m greatful to be alive. I think I love myself in the most healthiest way possible. It’s so healthy, you’d probably think I’m the most awesome human being roaming this planet. Great, great, great person. You wouldn’t believe.
Of course, I’m exaggerating, albeit just a little. My name is Sem Bergman, I’m in my mid-twenties and I’m about to graduate college. I still have no idea what I want to take out of this life and do for the rest of my life. I don’t know what I’m going to do for a living, I don’t know whether or not I’m good enough for anything and I don’t know what the fuck this all means. I don’t know jack shit. It could all just be a quarter life crisis, but I feel like this quarter life crisis has been going on for at least five years already.
On top of that, I feel like I’ve lived a full life already, but I haven’t even started a carreer, a family or a long lasting relationship yet. It’s difficult, just being alive. And yet, even with all these insecurities haunting me, I feel surprisingly confident about myself. It’s confusing. Is it? Yes indeed it is. Really? I don’t know.
What you just read is exactly the kind of stuff I’ll be writing about in my Log, “Sem’s Log” to be precise. It started during the Covid-19 pandemic, because while being locked up at home, it was the only thing I could possibly work on. Unlike my travel blog, this log doesn’t have a central theme. It’s just random thoughts and things that I need to get rid off by writing it down.
I call it entertainment, but my psychiatrist would call it a mental breakdown written down in a blog form. Either way, it seems interesting enough to give it a read, I assume.

My other projects
Besides my weird, sometimes unnecessary blog posts about myself, there’s much more to check out on here. After all, this all started as a travel blog.
Why do I enjoy traveling so much? To keep it short and simple: I think traveling is one of the most important things to do as a human being. If you have the capacity and financial freedom to visit a country outside of your comfortable realm, you basically owe it to the world to go and see as much of her beauty as you possibly can in the short lifespan every single one of us is bound to.

My Instagram Page
The travel blog is linked to an Instagram Page (@sembergmantravels). This contains videos and photos of my journeys abroad and the amount of visual content is much bigger on there, so it’s a great add to this blog. When I’m traveling, I also like to use my Instagram Stories to vlog about my time abroad.

My YouTube Channel
And now for something completely different: during the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020 I decided I wanted to learn how to sing. I’ve always been afraid to do it and I just wanted to break out of my comfort zone. That’s why every Saturday at 5 P.M. CET I release a new video of me playing acoustic covers (singing and playing guitar).
The idea of the channel is to show you the road to perfecting my singing voice – which is hard to do, I discovered. That’s why the first videos are far from perfect, but as always: it’s about the journey, not the destination. However, for now, and for the sake of your ears, just mute the videos as you grant me the watch time that the YouTube-algorithm enjoys so much. I’ll tell you when it gets better, I promise.

I know: “SoundCloud?? How OLDSKOOL!” Yes, it’s a dying platform – if it’s not already dead and six feet underground. However, I still enjoy uploading some of the music that I make on there.
